Biography
James Edward Wood was born on December 9, 1947, as James Godwin (Killer.Cloud, 2019). He was born in Pensacola, Florida, to his alcoholic father, Sherman, and his mother, Hazel Johnson. At the age of 2 years, his father was imprisoned and his mother left Pensacola and moved to Idaho. He was raised as an only child (Killer.Cloud, 2019). Godwin’s father was later released and was installing chain fences for work (Killer.Cloud, 2019).
His childhood was normal and took a quick turn after the 8-year-old Godwin witnessed his mother perish in a fire while attempting to save workers at a potato farm (Killer.Cloud, 2019). As he was looking for a shoulder to lean on, he was rejected by a nearby woman who he had tried to put arms around her waist. Godwin would later claim that this act pushed him to develop a hatred toward women.
