Abstract
The concerns of employees' performance during organizational change have significantly increased. Therefore, the current study assesses the effectiveness of leadership strategies in improving employees' performance during the organizational change in Abu Dhabi Municipality, UAE. The researcher adopts positivism to guide the data collection process. In this regard, the study employees a quantitative cross-sectional research design. The justification for choosing the research design is that is inexpensive because it enables the collection of a great deal of data quite quickly. In this case, data is obtained through self-report questionnaires. The study targets the employees and the management of Abu Dhabi Municipality. The researcher understands that is important to seek permission before involving the respondents in the study. Therefore, the researcher will seek permission from the management and human resource department to avoid any complications from ensuing. Besides, the researcher will ensure that all participants complete the Research Information Sheet as well as the Participant Consent Form. The researcher will then distribute the study questionnaires during break time to avoid interruptions during working hours. In this regard, the researcher will ensure that there is no violation of confidentiality.
1. Background
The concerns of employees' performance during organizational change have significantly increased (Merriman, Sen, Fell, & Litzky, 2016). According to the study conducted by Bonini, Görner, and Jones (2010), more than 50% of the organisation indicated that employee performance is one of the most important initiatives and goals. In this regard, more than 50% of the teams claimed that they have carried out significant changes within their business models to benefit from the factors associated with organizational changes (Bonini et al., 2010). Merriman et al. (2016) further argue that most employees do not often prioritize the efforts directed towards organizational performance because their immediate objectives and goals differ from leadership strategies. As a result, these employees perceive their work tasks and obligations to be more important than pursuing long-term organizational sustainability (Merriman et al., 2016).
