From 1660 to 1815, Britain’s rapid rise to global geopolitical primacy, maritime hegemony, and evolution into the wealthiest nation globally marked the Industrial Revolution’s commencement. With an increased pool of laborers, an agrarian revolution, and social transformations, the West witnessed “a quantum leap” in its revolution; material wealth increased, child labor set in, and women joined the working class (Spielvogel “Western Civilization: A Brief History 443).
