ABSTRACT
An accounting system is the series of tasks and records of an entity that process transactions to keep financial records. Such a system identifies, assembles, analyses, computes, classifies, records, summarises and reports among other events. Accounting system increase productivity, reduce operational costs and assist in making decisions both in the long or short run of a business. Accounting systems are faced by various risk including security breaches, fraud, outage and changes in financial regulations. This paper investigates the effecting of security breaches, outage, fraud and financial regulations on Banks in Nepal. Case studies will be conducted among selected financial institutions in Nepal. Non-probability purposeful sampling will be used to obtain a representative sample. Data will be collected through interviews and oral history. Data will be analysed and recommendations made that will help curb the risks experienced when consuming accounting systems in the development of such systems.

An accounting system should increase productivity, reduce operational costs and assist in making decisions both in the long or short run of the business.
There are various reasons why creating an accounting system is important. An accounting system addresses needs such as tracking expenses, Invoice and sources of funding. Expenses is the sum of money that gets out of an entity in exchange for supplies from its suppliers. Automated systems provide fast data entry, classification and determine outstanding bills automatically. The system should track paid and pending invoices. Additionally, the systems track funding such as the entities capital, liabilities and updates their value as well as tracking when, where and how liabilities are settled.
