1.0 INTRODUCTION
The green buildings technology is a form of construction technology that includes measures to ensure low operational energy demand and consumption. The technology also encourages the reuse and recycle of materials (Shoubi et al., 2015). To embrace this technology, architects and engineers design and construct buildings using modern construction methods in order to obtain reliable, efficient and sustainable developments. Smith and Parmenter (2013) advised that it remains necessary to have close integration between the construction and design disciplines for development of more efficient buildings to elevate the costs of construction and the design of modern systems.
The proposed construction of a café/visitor’s center located within Hyde Park is intended to serve the people of London while taking into consideration elements of energy saving, environment protection and accessibility of the modern space by the public.
This technical report contains proposed modern construction methods, proposed solutions to access of the café/visitor’s center in accordance with the Building Regulations Approved Document Part M proposed drainage layouts in accordance with the Building Regulations Approved Document Part H, proposed effective HVAC strategies and the BRUKL calculations.
