1 INTRODUCTION
Each country has its own rules and regulations to provide and protect the rights of consumers in order to make sure that consumers expounded with fair dealings. The public authority for consumer protection law was promulgated by Royal Decree 53/ 2011. This law ensures that consumers are not going to experience practices unfairly by large corporations, and none is taking advantage of this dealings. The prime consideration of public authority is to free the market from price fluctuations, and it also ensures the consumer generally aware about the price of commodities, and guarantees plausibility, and provides knowledge to customers about the price. DUTIES OF PUBLIC AUTHORITY FOR CONSUMER PROTECTION
There are some significant obligations on public authority:
1 Make sure to observe the enforcement of rules and regulation in the territorial jurisdiction of Sultanate of Oman.
2 Administer to structure the plans and arrange such events that ensure consumers protection.
3 Carry on surveys in markets and resolve the issues related to price and others.
4 Perpetually uninterrupted inspections conducted by teams of public authority in the market, to make sure that rules are following and goods are available at a reasonable price in the market.
5 Expand the market in order to give the choice of products to consumers.
6 Arrange the programs that aware the consumers about scientific methods of market competition.
7 Stimulate competition and discourage the monopoly in the market.
8 Encourage international investors to enter the market of the sultanate of Oman. (2020)
