Sears Canada Inc.
Sears Canada Inc is a parent company of Kmart Holding Corporation and Sears. The company is a broad line retailer with 2297 full-line and 1233 specialty retail stores in the United States serving through Kmart and Sears and 388 full-line and specialty retail stores in Canada. Therefore, it is a multi-channel retailer whose operations are centered around merchandising and include the sale of goods and services through the retail channel. This includes Full-line, Sears Home, Hometown Dealer, Outlet, Appliances and Mattresses, and Corbeil Electrique Inc., store, and direct channel. Similarly, its operations include service revenue related to product repair and home improvement. In addition, there are commission revenues that include insurance and performance payment received from JPMorgan long-term credit card marketing and servicing agreement with JPMorgan Chase.
As a management consultant, there is need to re-design Sears Canada Inc in terms of its organizational goals and strategy. This will help the company to make more revenues and venture into the global business effectively. Sears Canada Inc has a long tradition of venturing into the global business. For instance, Sears has a long-standing community of African descent. Initially, its mission was to venture into the hearts and minds of Canadians to be their trusted go-to retailer. Therefore, its mission in this century due to its expansive nature on a global scale should be to be a transnational trusted go-to retailer at the heart of the global scale. Sears goal entails the use of social and online content to engage its shoppers in an interactive space while meticulously expanding its social touch that creates a seamlessly integrated shopping experience. In this regard, there is a close fit in the re-designing of Sears Canada Inc., in order to match the transnational retailing structure.
The current organizational structure for Sears is based on a functional configuration of flat complexity. The distribution is on the national scale. However, most ventures of this company are on an international scale. The organizational structure is based on the current shareholding either directly or indirectly. It is of advantage to the shareholder as they get benefits depending on the shares that they own in the company. This form the following structure as illustrated below.

As the management or decision makers, there is need to redesign the organizational structure in order to fit on the global retailing scale as the current structure is problematic. This is because the Seas Canada Inc. is a multinational company. Therefore, it is not serving the interests of not only the Canadians but also by the global scale citizens. Similarly, from this study, a contradiction has emanated showing the deference concerning the research organizational goals. This has eliminated a consideration of structural elements for the organizational design plan.
In relation to the current organizational structure of Sears Canada Inc., there is the need to reconsider the internal elements and re-sign the in order to make the company attain the international standards, as it is required. The management should consider various attributes that will meet both the internal and external locus of control for the functionality of both elements. In order for this company to attain this attributes, technical experts, internal people with relevant experiences, suppliers, stockholders, creditors, and supportive sister organizations must be involved (Goold & Campbell, 2012).
In relation to the management of dynamic processes at this company, of the decisions executives make due to their powers and roles, those concerning organizational often have the most powerful effect on stakeholders.
