According to the latest McKinsey Global Survey, there is no precise definition of sustainability among many. For example, 55 percent consider it management of environmental issues including energy efficiency, water conservation, greenhouse gas emissions, waste management, and product development. Besides, 44 percent feel it is a governance issue management. For example, regulation compliance, meet accepted industry standards, and ethical practice maintenance. The survey further says that more than fifty percent of executives consider sustainability- important in broad areas, such as reputation building, product development, and general corporate strategy. Despite this, only 30 percent of administrators admit their companies have sort prospects towards investing in sustainability. Although the inaction by the International governments and poor leadership is a bit worrying, nevertheless, a few leading companies ‘proactive approaches are commendable. This work is, therefore, going to explore facts concerning the approaches used by the following nine companies: Unilever, Toyota, Walmart, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Nokia, Marks and Spencer, LO’RE’AL, and Pearson, reduce environmental impact and cut waste.

Company One. Unilever ()
1. Over the next ten years, Unilever plans to make its revenue a twofold and cutting by a half its products environmental impacts.
