Advances in Molecular Biology
Question 1
C. elegans, like most of other model organisms, is very simple to manage, maintain and feed during its 2-week lifecycle. Since it goes through multiple periods of life that may be studied genetically and physiologically, the organism is very valuable for the study of aging mechanisms, and this makes it a good model organism. When reproduced in massive numbers, the organism is easy to test for the development of modern medications on the complex mechanisms used in diseases (Marsh and May, 2012). It offers certain advantages, which include the ability to observe the future of single cells using ordinary microscopy or more complex methods such as Light Sheet Microscopy as well as SPIM that are made possible by the transparency of the materials
C. elegans share a lot of resemblances at a cellular and molecular level hence it is considered a good model organism in research. C. elegans has also been used to investigate neurological development; it is preferably suitable for this use because it has a detailed interconnectivity map with around 7000 synapses, 302 neurons that makes it a cheap model to study neural growth. C.elegans is anatomically simpler than a human (Meneely et al. 2019). The C. elegans nervous system additionally have characteristics which are popular in higher organisms (Marsh and May, 2012). These consist of shared neuromodulators, receptors and neurotransmitters. Regardless of its tremendously simple nervous system, C. elegans demonstrates a broad diversity of activities from a simple aversion in reaction to high oxygen concentration or to stimuli-like mechanical body touch, to comparatively complex relationship of a conditioned stimulus (CS) like temperature or chemical with unconditioned stimulus (US).
Healthy cultures of C. elegans could be frozen and then defrosted as well as be revived when they are required for laboratory experiments. C. elegans may also be grown inexpensively and in huge numbers on dishes having bacteria. The organism is very tiny hence it is very convenient to put it in the laboratory. It is transparent all through its lifespan, hence the behavior of single cells could be tracked all through its growth (Meneely et al. 2019). A distinctive characteristics of C. elegans is that its growth is very detailed since cells divide and specialize in a distinguishing manner, where ever cell may be followed back to the embryo.
Question 2
The Drug Discovery and development is a lengthy one, lasting up to 13 years. Generally, the approach of Early Drug Discovery begins with a test for potentially active molecules. These molecules should have a medicinal impact on the target ailment, and once identified, safety and efficacy testing may commence.
Stage 1: Stage 1: Early Drug Discovery
The process through which new drugs are developed is called drug discovery. Historically, medications were

  • The Standard Economic Development Metrics and The New Economic Development Perspective
Description: “Economic development” typically means wealth creation. To equate economic progress with social improvement is a fatal miscalculation because unrelenting growth may stifle economic wealth creation. A solely resource-based economy would lead to unemployment, lack of education, and skill development (coal, wood...
