Introduction
Fjell et al (2014) explains the different types of aging as: Primary aging is the gradual but inevitable kind of aging manifested in deteriorating of the body of an individual. It takes place throughout lifetime of a person. Secondary aging results from poor health lifestyles such as consumption of excess fats, smoking, lack of exercise on the one hand and diseases on the other. On the other hand, normal aging refers to a state when changes in the life of an individual are necessarily not harmful such when the hair thins and turns gray.
Of the three different types of aging, an individual can be said to have control over secondary aging since this kind of aging results out of unhealthy lifestyle (Bratic & Larsson 2013). Proper observance of diet and prompt exercise has the ability to reduce to secondary aging to negligible proportions. Normal and primary aging can be influenced by internal and external changes such as when one chooses to live an active life so that the body is put to burn the calories and fats that may be harmful to the life of a person if they were to be retained in the body system (Kennedy et al, 2014).
Lifestyle of an individual is has a direct link to aging and diseases. When an individual leads a life that does not involve exercise of the body, they stand chances of developing lifestyle diseases such as cancer, hypertension as well as the various types of diabetes (Bratic & Larsson 2013). According to Kennedy et al (2014), social responsibilities and emotional well-being of a person has influence on the health of a person as stressful life may bring pressures in the life of a person thereby increasing their aging and increased risk of contracting diseases.
