Abstract
Computer security is one of the major concerns that has been raised by corporate bodies and institutions in recent years. Some people may argue that security of an organizations' network systems is the sole responsibility of the IT team, but in the real sense, it is a shared responsibility that cuts across all the departments, stakeholders, casual workers, and even the organizations' corporate partners. According to Cisco, (2018), network security is a phenomenon, process or an activity that is planned, designed, established and implemented for the protection of the corporate or individual network, and the data exchanged therein. It is a composite of hardware and software technologies (Cisco, 2018). One important point to note is that network security is the only guarantee of successful network access. It is very hard to have successful network access if its security parameters have been breached (Kizza, 2017). In this documentation, three fundamental aspects of computer network security will be assessed, discussed and network-centric solutions and recommendations based on the findings given.
