The global refugee crisis is at a record high, with millions internally and externally displaced due to protracted civil and internal conflict. For example, the Syrian war is in its eight-year, displacing millions of locals. This humanitarian problem primarily burdens developing countries as they host a majority of these displaced people. Despite wealthy nations being the main culprits fueling these wars, they accommodate the least number of people. However, wealthy nations should accommodate more refugees and asylum seekers since they are wealthier, technologically advanced, and peaceful than the developing world, where most refugees are sheltered.
Wealthy nations are more economically developed and financially endowed than developing nations that host most of the world’s refugees. Their GDPs, per capita income, physical life, and human development indexes are higher. Thus, their legal, health and medical systems are better equipped to accommodate an influx of
