In the United States, there was a recession towards the end of 2007. An economy that is healthy will have a period of high growth, slow growth or no growth at all. Recession is mostly noted through the gross domestic product, employment, real income, and industrial production. This paper will look at the recession that took place in the United States in 2008 by looking at the causes, and the effects that it had on investments, housing markets, interest rates, national debt, industrial production, and other economies.
