Criminal justice
The law can sometimes be very complicated, especially when it comes to its regulation and enforcement, (Roffer, 2015). Today, some of the criminal cases are in court waiting hearing, but most are already complete. Most of the mysteries of the unsolved cases lie on the lack of evidence to convict a suspect, while others are due to the withdrawal of witnesses, (Wienreb, 2016). According to (Wienreb, 2016), most suspects and defendants in criminal justice are people are accused of domestic violence crimes, theft, drug crimes and sex crimes. Furthermore, cases regarding embezzlement and fraud are also in this group, (Wienreb, 2016).
The criminal justice system in England and Wales dealt with 1.72 million criminal cases in 2015 which was, in fact, a decline, (Wienreb, 2016). Also, the number of people convicted and sentenced increased by 3% from the previous year's results. According to (Wienreb, 2016), this was a good step, since it led to decrease in custody cases by a rate of 7.9%. The improvement in the justice system has reduced criminal justice cases, and perpetrators sentenced. However, sexual abuse cases have increased at 3% more than the previous year, (Wienreb, 2016). Therefore, this calls for adequate attention to be directed towards this area to reduce these cases. Juvenile cases have also been increasing, since in the year 2015, about 550 minors had possession of illegal weapons.Â
In the United States, the FBI plays a significant role in solving most of the criminal cases. Statistics have it that the FBI has helped in solving almost 47.2% of most cases that remain a mystery to the public, (Roffer, 2015). Cases to do with illegal weapons, fraud, and other criminal cases have been priority cases for most of the law enforcers. According to federal judicial caseload statistics, 2013 US courts received 14% bankruptcy cases. Federal Judicial Caseload reports a drop in criminal cases by 7% in the year 2003 in the US courts of appeal. Research carried by Bureau of Justice Statistics showed about 58,100 defendants were charged with felony charges, in 2006. Surprisingly enough, 95% of felony offenders were convicted by pleaded guilty.
Various research has been carried by different groups regarding issues to do with criminal cases and justice. The research from most of these researchers points that a large percentage of the criminal offenders are adults, especially the youth. Minor criminal cases are not as rapid as the adults. The research also outlines that a big percentage of the criminal offenders are people who have engaged in previous crimes or have been arrested there before. For example, the research by Bureau of Justice Statistics shows that 69% of the felony offenders are people who had were arrested earlier. It clearly shows that the percentage of a person, who has engaged in crime earlier on to commit a crime, is higher than for people who have not been accused of a crime. Therefore, jails and the individuals in charge of reforming the criminals should put more effort in advising and collecting people who have been sentenced by the court.
According to (Hannibal, 2016) more effort should be directed towards the crimina...
