Cannabis Sativa, popularly known as marijuana, is United Kingdoms' most commonly abused illegal drug, and its dependence and abuse are widespread. Approximately more than 30% of college students are reported to be using marijuana annually. Additionally, a quarter of the number of people reported to be using the drug met the Cannabis Sativa disorder criteria. The issue of marijuana use is serious, putting into consideration the youth population's psychological and health development since marijuana is perceived as a gateway drug that could cause user disorder and addiction. The legalization of cannabis is a multifaceted and controversial matter that is currently the country's main subject of discussion. The widespread use of marijuana by the youth and adolescents as the country's new recreational drug began towards the end of the 1970s. In contemporary times, there is a high likelihood that the marijuana legalization plan would be actualized. The main reason being that more than 60% of the Millennials support the legalization bill. The assumption is braced by public opinion that shifted in marijuana legalization's favour. Consequently, even voters are ready for the possibility of the establishment of a taxed and regulated marijuana market that could offer better results and adequately safeguard public safety against the ancient criminalization approach. CLEAR (Cannabis Law Reform) is the most prominent organization that works solely on the policy reform of marijuana in the UK. As marijuana legalization proponents, CLEAR has offered assistance and funding to localities and states to promote the legislation and initiatives of 'marijuana as medicine' for several years. The organisations primary focus has always been on legalising marijuana and urged the states to amend the penalties for the use or possession of marijuana to civil charges from criminal charges.
