I am writing in support of the arguments you raised with regards to death penalty. First of all I do believe that death penalty models the behavior it seeks to prevent (Ma, 2014). According to biblical teachings and legal provisions, killing is completely unacceptable. However, death penalty requires that killing is acceptable. Such requirements could not only reduce death but also enhance the motive of those who face death penalty punishments to continue taking part in the action.
I am arguing for the position that death penalty should be abolished across the states simply because one might end up killing the wrong person. In some cases, due to DNA evidence not being related to crime, some offenders have been freed as a result (Ma, 2014). The capacity not to understand how many people have been exonerated is crucial towards providing evidence that death penalty is a crucial factor.
I support the abolishment of death penalty simply because it does not end murder. Evidence shows that states which allow death penalty usually have high homicides rates of about 50%-100%. Such high homicide levels constraint the belief that death penalty could end as a result of the input factors. Abolishing death penalty is an essential practice simply because it majorly targets on the segregation based on income. The poor end up facing death penalty simply because they cannot access enough income to bail themselves (Ma, 2014). Facing death penalty majorly depends on the representation at the trial. The system plays an integral role in determine death penalty. A good example is how OJ Simpson’s lawyer received $5 million just because of representing him out of the death penalty.
I support the abolishment of death penalty simply because it majorly focuses on increasing racial disparities. Studies indicate that blacks mostly face death penalty despite them making a small percentage of the US population. Such death rows which emerge as a result of the discrimination by color majorly drag the country behind. Such discrimination normally drags behind the essence to achieve an equitable and law abiding nation. With most prosecutors being white, it is rare to achieve a uniform and equitable decision from the court of law. Such policies constrain the decisions to achieve equity.
