Book review: The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid
Introduction
The ‘thunderbolt kid’ is a derisive description of a boy in the story who believed to have within himself, some superpowers. He depicts that’s when he claims that he had the ability to vaporized people or even situation with some vision heat. He also says that whenever other kids tried to protect themselves from the bomb, he would just pull out his comic book to read. After all, he was the thunderbolt kid. The writer brings about his memories in the book, those of his childhood. This is to mean the author is the main character of the story. He clearly depicts a humble survivor of families when he talks of his parents who live in America in the late 1950s. The author, Bill Bryson, wrote all his memories making this book to be classified as a memoir, to mean it fully entails of non-fictional memories. It was published on October 17 in the year 2006 in the United States and Canada. In September first the same year it was published in the United Kingdom. It is an English written book that consists of two hundred and eighty-eight pages. It was published both in writing and audio by the Broadway Books Doubleday. The review will look closely into the content coverage, the plot of the story, the weakness of the book and also its strengths.
