My Personal Narrative
My name is Bandar Almarri, a second born in a family of four. Since I was a child, my mother used to tell me that if I want to be great in life, then I must work hard in school. I am currently thinking of joining an environmental club in school so that together with others we ensure that our school is free from pollution. Hopefully, I believe that the next lot of students that will come after us will be inspired to continue from where we left.
Community or social work is not something new to me. While in Qatar, I had joined a group of young people in our neighborhood as young ambassadors of environmental conservation. We made remarkable progress as children, and even adults could join us in the cleaning of streets, drainage canals, and garbage sites. I must say that the experience made me become the responsible person I am today. I gained skills such as teamwork, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving. This molded me to become a young leader who had the voice of reason before my peers. It is my hope that I am going to replicate the same here in America. My first task is to present a proposal for the environment club that would require the club members together with other willing students to utilize t...
