Many of the colleges and universities in America prohibit carrying concealed weapons, but pro- gun organizations have increased their efforts towards changing this stand on gun ownership. The authors used a survey to assess the faculty’s perceptions on carrying firearms on campuses in the five Great Lakes States. The study results showed a majority of the faculty felt safe at 97%, but they were also against carrying concealed weapons on and off-campus. Demographically, male members who supported the Republican Party were more likely to support the right to carry concealed weapons. Hence, supporters of carrying gun should focus on reasons as to why there is still opposition to carrying canceled guns on campus.
