Synthesis and Analysis of “As you like it”
The theme of division in the social hierarchy is essential because it shows how people access power and resources differently in society. Shakespeare displays crucial concerns with social construction and class dynamics. He displays the topic of social hierarchy by using characters that come from different social classes, such as yeomen, nobles, beggars, kings, and laborers. The issue of division in social class was of great interest in the late twentieth century, and this has continued to date. Therefore, this paper will describe class dynamics and social constructions, as displayed in Shakespeare’s drama ‘’As You like it’’ and supported by the secondary source ‘’The Political Conscious of Shakespeare’s “As you like it’’ by Andrew Barnaby.
