Discuss the relationship between risk, resiliency and protective factors
Risk factors refer to those conditions that lead children or individuals develop behaviors that are not friendly as much as education is concerned. Resiliency factors are the ones that make people adapt successfully during threats or disasters that may encounter them at school. On the other hand, protective factors refer to the factors that prevent risks from occurring on an individual. It is how people bounce from trauma, stress, and risk. This mostly applies to children and often to grown up people (Jenson, 2012).

Some of the risk factors the students undergo include high levels of disharmony in the family, lack of nurturing from parents, neglecting and material deprivation, chaotic environment at home, and physical, mental and sexual abuse among others. The resilient factors developed after that include future aspirations, self-efficacy, high confidence and self-esteem and development of social problem-solving skills (Jenson, 2012).
Another form of relationship that exists is where protective factors, which are meant to assist the students, avoid the risk factors. They occur after one becoming resilient over their lives. The factors are parental self-efficacy, affection especially from the members of the extended families, the presence of an adult figure that is stable, features and positive care styles for the parents among others (Jenson, 2012).
