APPLE AND NOKIA CASE STUDY.
Introduction.
In 2007, Apple and Nokia were the two leading smartphone manufacturers in the world. While Nokia had been in the business of making phones since the 1960s, Apple entered the market with the iPhone in 2007 and quickly became a dominant player. In the following years, Apple's iPhone would outsell Nokia's phones by a wide margin (Apple, 2017). There are many reasons for Apple's success and Nokia's failure, but a few key factors stand out. First, Apple has been a leader in innovation, releasing new products and features that have appealed to consumers.
Nokia, on the other hand, has been slower to adopt new technologies and failed to keep up with the changing trends in the smartphone market (Nokia, 2017). Additionally, Apple has been successful in marketing its products, while Nokia has struggled to compete with the marketing of Apple and other smartphone manufacturers. Ultimately, Apple's success can be attributed to its focus on innovation, marketing, and customer satisfaction, while Nokia's failure can be attributed to its failure to keep up with changing technology, poor marketing, and lack of customer satisfaction (Apple, 2020).
Organizational structure and culture for both the organization
Apple's organizational structure is highly centralized, with most decisions made by the top executives (Apple, 2017). This allows for quick and efficient decision-making, which is crucial in a fast-paced industry like technology. Apple's culture is also highly centralized, with a strong focus on innovation and customer satisfaction. Employees are expected to be creative and work together as a team to come up with new ideas.
