On the job training provides a continuous career development for psychological counselors, therefore, improving competency in the field of counseling.
The second case of Ramonna turns out to be a scenario whereby she offers to volunteer to gain experience. She is willing to pay for supervision to diverse her expertise. Although the endeavor is beneficial to Rommana, it might not be the case for the patient. Exposing a patient to a less knowledgeable counselor exposes her to a higher risk of not benefiting from the service. The patient case of battering seems too grave, and it requires an experienced counselor to handle the counselling. The case brings about the issue related to the dilemma of volunteerism, whereby the engagement of the student by the counselor is through mutual agreement.
