Many people take nursing quickly, thinking it is easy, but it is one of the most complex professions, full of challenges. Nurses go through many challenges and always need to conquer and overcome them. According to "The Grief Train," nurses witness many deaths in the wards. They spend a few minutes treating a sick person, and within a few minutes, they pass out, which leaves the nurses in distress and panic. They undergo this because they handle many patients with more significant problems and low chances of surviving.
This is seen in Paul's case, whereby he was pleading with the nurse to give him morphine due to the pain he was experiencing (Otsuka et al. 37). Other nurses were administering morphine even when he was not in pain, which made the drug get used in his system. The fact that he did not give the patient some morphine and he and the family watched him die a real trauma. Doing the same thing that the nurse did is what I could have done.
They also face challenges in handling arrogant clients who bring their patients for treatment and decide to go home with them even before they are appropriately treated.
