Introduction and Description
The trip is to be travelled to Thailand during the country’s New Year celebration. The festival happens during the Thai New Year called Songkran. The event occurs during the 13th April of each year. So I will be travelling next year. The holiday happens in two days from 14th to 15th of the same month. Each of the regions in the country have different kind of celebrations. The festival is usually a mixture of the country traditions and fun. There are events which entail showcasing the country’s finest dishes. The native show acts of kindness by serving food stuffs and showing kindness to the visitors (Bob et al 12).
Thailand is a country that is located in Southeast Asia. The country is divided into six geographical regions. The regions are based on landforms in the country and the drainage systems. The regions are northern Thailand which is highly mountainous. The other region is the northeastern Thailand which is a more favorable area for agriculture. The region is mainly plateau like which conducive for the growth of rice. The other region is central Thailand is the heart of the country. It has cities such as Bangkok which means the transport system and the industrial activity is high. The eastern Thailand is made of the Gulf of Thailand plateau with the region having many short mountains. Western Thailand has the forest in Thailand. The last region is the southern Thailand which has a rolling terrain and it’s mountainous.
The population of the country as of 2014 was estimated to be 67,200,000 people. The population of the country is mainly rural. The rural areas are the ones which the rice is grown. By the year 2010 Bangkok was estimated to have at least 45% of the country. This means that the population density of the city was highly concentrated. The life expectancy of the country counties to raise with the number of deaths that result from contacting of HIV/AIDS reducing. The ethnic groups in the country are diverse. There is an estimated 62 ethnic communities in the country. There is also a significant Chinese-Thai population which has its origins from china. There is also an estimated 1.6 million people that have disabilities which amounts to 2.4% of the country’s population.
The political regime of the country is a constitutional monarchy with a prime minister who is the head of the country. The other parts of the government are the legislative branch and the judiciary. The judiciary is independent of the other branches of the government. The constitution of the country is based towards strengthening of the monarchy system of the country. The current leader of the country is the king who took over the throne in 2016. The king is also the leader of the armed forces of the country. The official religion of the country is the Theravada Buddhism. The other religions are Christian, Muslim and the other population does not have a specific religion. The culture of the country is mainly influenced by the religions which mainly is Buddhism. The customs that are practiced mainly involve food stuffs that are cooked and also the kind of greetings that Thai people have. Social norms which are common in other county’s may be okay are considered to be rude as such as the touching of someone’s head (Rimrang 2626-2630). Placing ones foot on another person is considered rude as the people in Thailand consider the feet as the lowest and dirtiest part of the body.
The economy of the country mainly depends on export as the main source of income. The country has an estimated GDP of 366 billion US dollars. The economy of the country has continued to grow steadily over time. The industrial and the service sectors account for the large percentages of the GDP of the country. The economy is also boosted by having a steady agricultural sector which accounts for 8.4% of the GDP. The construction and the mining sector are also major players to the economy and account for about 4.3%. The other sectors of the economy which are the financial sectors, education sector and hotel sector account for 24.9% of the GDP. The economy itself is the second largest in Southeast Asia which is after Indonesia. The country has being able to be recognized by the World Bank as one of the success stories of development.
Logistics
Travelling will occur during the spring of next year. That will be in March of 2017. This is because the festival that I’m supposed to find starts in mid-April. The travelling arrangements will be made early in order to avoid the occurrence of any possible delays. The costs that will be involved in the whole process of the travelling will already have being made in a table such that everything is taken care of. Moving from the country will be able to happen by the end of the month. That means that the travelling will occur by around 28th of March as the visit will be for a period of around two weeks.

The main places that will be visited during the tour will first be Bangkok which is the business hub of the country and where the main administrative bodies of the country are found. The capital is also a reference point in the country where there are so many culture in the city and the city is also densely populated. The other place that will be visited is the Phanon Rung which is a shrine which is in the northern Thailand. This temple was used in the early days of the country for worshipping purposes.
