Introduction
A good business continuity plan can reduce business interruptions while protecting major business interests, assets, and relationships. But some organizations do not prioritize business continuity planning. Below are the concerns I found with the company's existing business continuity plan. Budget restraints. The company has not prioritized the existing business continuity plan because its main goal is profit maximization. There is a need to designate a budget to execute business continuity planning. Lack of preparedness. Employees are not well prepared to respond in case of an operational failure. The organization should adopt and sustain a preparedness culture and embrace safety measures. Critical data and asset storage. I found that the company's recovery team is not aware of the storage location of critical data and assets. The recovery team should be informed of the storage location so that they can deal with any emergency in case the IT team is not available. The BCP does not have a clear outline of preventive measures. The company should come up with well-articulated expertise, tools, and procedures for preventing and alleviating the impacts of tragedy.
