Apples Organizational Structure and Culture
A good organizational structure and culture are the foundation of all successful businesses since they determine competitive advantage in the modern diverse business world. Organizational culture is also critical to business since it determines the internal and external rules and policies under which employees operate (Auchter et al., 2018). Some of the most successful organizations have a strict culture with rewards for individuals and groups that follow them to the core and penalties for employees who defy (Soderstrom & Weber, 2020). It is therefore imperative to compare a successful organization (Apple) and a company that failed due to poor organizational structure to assess the impacts of culture and organizational culture on business.
Apple is one of the most successful tech companies in the world, and its success can only be attributed to its organizational structure that encourages and motivates employees to work hard towards apple's goals. Apple's organizational structure is also designed to inspire innovation that has contributed to developing some of the world's fastest and most reliable devices. Apple is one of the few tech companies that still use the traditional hierarchy, combined with other aspects of modern structures (Moşteanu, 2020). The traditional hierarchy enables the company to maintain its quality standards and leadership features that have enabled them to continue implementing some of the innovation and leadership strategies introduced by its late founder, Steve Jobs (Tian et al., 2022). Although the current Apple leader, Tim Cook, has changed several aspects of Steve Jobs's innovation and leadership structure to suit modern technological and globalization needs, most traditional strategies are still effective.
