Executive Summary
The report will make a brief introduction of the Shangri-La Group of hotels in Malaysia. It will highlight the activities of the hotel and its operation in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and South East Asia. Besides, the report will discuss a PESTLE analysis of the organization concerning the impact of COVID 19 pandemic. It will finally provide a recommendation that will play a significant role in promoting their operation during the pandemic and after the pandemic. The recommendation will ensure that the company remains strong and achieves its vision and mission in the hospitality industry.
Introduction
Shangri-La Kuala Lumper is one of the best high-end hotels in Malaysia. The hotel is owned by the Shangri-La group a leading hospitality company in Asia. Currently, Shangri-La manages and operates over 100 hotels under the organization's brand names which are; Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Kerry Hotels, JEN, and Traders(Shangri-La, n.d.). So far the group has expanded its hospitality business from Asia to other regions across the globe. Shangri-La has taken advantage of the economic growth being experienced in the Asian regions. The growth has led to the rise in the number of middle-class population that seek finner lifestyle and experience.
To achieve this, Shangri-La envisions to be the most sought hospitality choice for guests, colleagues, shareholders, and business partners(Shangri-La, n.d.). Shangri-La has achieved this by providing its clients with exotic lifestyle and hospitality packages that are not only affordable to their clients but also coupled with an experience they will live to remember. Shangri-La's main mission is to gratify their clients and guests all the time through the provision of winsome experiences emanating from deep within their hearts. This approach has proved to be appealing both to their prospective customers and their existing clients.
Shangri-La PESTLE Analysis
PESTLE analysis is a strategic management tool that is used to analyze the effect of external factors on an organization at any given period. PESTLE analysis is considered the simplest strategic management analysis tool for business students. The analysis helps in providing a business organization with the exact extent of external influence on its operation (Srdjevic et al., 2012). This analysis is very crucial to the business as it allows an organization to put in place mitigation measures that will allow them to overcome and counter the external factors that have a direct impact on its operation.
