Food Security as Global Issue
           Food security refers to the ability of a family to acquire affordable, sustainable, and nutritious food at all times.  All national governments across the globe, whether from developing or developed nations, are concerned with having adequate nutritious food to feed their people at all times. Countries trade with each other to sell what they produce on a large scale, and in turn, buy what they do not produce in their territories. Food security is a global issue because it touches on the health of people living worldwide, productivity levels of each country, and economies of both developing and developed nations.
           Food security is all about having affordable, adequate food, nutritious, and constant food supply, four factors that touch on people’s health. When people cannot obtain enough nutritious food, they will starve because, without food, the metabolic processes in the human body cannot function appropriately, hence a concern to the global community. For example, FAO conducted recent study that indicates that over 900 million people have poor health because they lack food.
