How can a student avoid procrastinating? (Coursework Sample)

Instructions:

I'm a 19 year old male in a heavy equipment technician program. I need the assignment for my elective course (Critical Thinking and Ethical Thoughts) but with working full time and school I don't have the time.
TITLE of Written Assignment 1:
"Five Steps To Solve Any Problem"
Choose a problem that needs to be solved.
This problem can be one from your own past or present or you can borrow a problem from a friend.
If you and your friends have no problems, you are truly blessed.
If such is the case, borrow a problem from the world.
The world has lots of problems.
You will write one paragraph for each of the five suggested steps for problem-solving found in Topic Seven.
Within each paragraph address the bullets [(i.), (ii.), etc.] as they apply to your discussion.
Each of the five paragraphs will be evaluated out of 10 (ten) marks, for an assignment total of 50 (fifty) marks.
Paragraph 1 / Step 1 / Introduction / Define The Problem
By way of introduction discuss the process you employed to clearly define the problem. Examine in your discussion what it is that needs to be decided, your purpose in making the decision and the desired result(s). Conclude the paragraph with a clear statement of the problem to be resolved.
Paragraph 2 / Step 2 / Gather Information
Summarize your process of gathering information and the sources you used. Identify three to five alternative solutions to the problem.
Paragraph 3 / Evaluate Alternatives
Discuss the pros and cons of each alternative. For each discuss the "worst case" result possible and the impact of the solution on yourself and others.
Paragraph 4 / Make A Decision
Describe the decision you ultimately make (or made) and your plan to implement it.
Paragraph 5 / Conclusion / Evaluate Results
By way of conclusion report on the outcome of your decision. If you have used the example of a problem and solution from your past, what was the result? If you have used the example of a problem from your present, what are your expected results? What revisions do you anticipate may need to be made to your plan? Are you satisfied with the solution to your problem? Is the problem fixed?

Procrastination is one of the major challenges that face students. Procrastination can be defined as the process of deliberately postponing duties or assignments until the last minutes to the deadline. In some situation, many students use the last few minutes to do homework or assignments. Scholars and psychologist admit that procrastination is a serious problem to mot students since it interferes with their academics and lifestyle (Graff & Birkenstein, 2010). In addition, procrastination can lead to stress and unhealthy physical conditions due to lack of proper sleep and rest. Therefore, procrastination is a serious academic and psychological problem that needs to be resolved in schools. A decision has to be made on how students can avoid procrastinating (Graff & Birkenstein, 2010). All students need to manage their time well and accomplish all tasks without any pressure.
In order to understand the causes of procrastination, Graff & Birkenstein (2010) interviewed several students. Students were to give reasons as to why they are procrastinating. In addition, a thorough library research was conducted on the issue of procrastination. From these sources; it was found that students procrastinate due to many factors. One of the reasons is poor time management. Most students who postpone duties do not know how to prioritize their tasks. As a solution, students should set reading timetables that accommodate all activities. They should eliminate all distractions during their study time like TV, mobile phones and PlayStations. Another alternative to curb the problem is that students should set realistic goals in their learning programs. For instance, student should look for a favorable place to do their assignments and revisions. The environment should also have minimal activities that distract their learning so that they have minimal temptations to engage in distractions.
It is also important for students to have positive minded friends who will not distract them from their learning activities. However, students should be careful and avoid staying over focused and lose all their friends. Creating timetables that tend to reduce time for social activities is dangerous. This is the worst case that happens to many students. Spending a lot of time in books can also increase stress in students. Furthermore, it is hard for some students to access libraries. This creates a challenge for such students to create humble reading environments free from distractions.
My ultimate decision to avoiding procrastinating is by remaining motivated throughout their study period. Setting an all-inclusive personal timetable of learning will be the perfect way to stay motivated. I will start by doing small tasks little by little each day. For instance, if I am reading for an exam, I should consider reading a chapter of the course each day and avoid reading the whole course in a single night. Furthermore, I will set realistic goals and focus on them. Students can avoid procrastinating by understanding their purpose in learning that will lead to satisfaction in their learning endeavors. Students should clearly identify their personal reasons why they enrolled for a part...
