The findings on “culture of honor” (Aronson, Wilson, & Sommers, 2017, p.400) provides an insightful perspective on how we can understand aggression. People who come from this cultural background express a high level of aggression than other people (Aronson, Wilson, & Sommers, 2017, p.400). This heightened aggression is however linked to economic situations of a certain place (Aronson, Wilson, & Sommers, 2017, p.400). People who are likely to develop a culture rooted in honor, are those who are economically vulnerable. They use aggression as a means of protecting their economic interests (Aronson, Wilson, & Sommers, 2017, p.400). In this regard, therefore, violence and force act as a means of self-preservation.
