Health care evaluation is crucial for all institutions. There are various dimensions that are used to conduct the evaluation of various institution to ascertain the quality of the health care provided. These are dimensions obtained from a well-established framework that is used in comparing the performance of health systems. The four dimensions that are used in the evaluation of the inventions that are aimed at improving the quality of health care. The dimensions are effectiveness, efficiency, humanity, and equity (Hickey, 2012).
The selection of the effectiveness of the outcome depends on the reliance on the standards and the guidelines that are required. Additionally, the effectiveness of outcome in health care is also based on the systematic and routine interval measures of the well-being of the patient and the function and having specific clinical outcomes. The determination and the selection of the outcomes are also determined through the use of the pooled clinical and the outcome data (Drummond, 2015). Additionally, the data is properly analyzed and disseminated to help in the making decisions. The outcome that is expected or is obtained is directly linked with the resources that are utilized throughout the process. The decisions that are made also lead to the effective utilization of the available resources (Malloch, 2010).
Effectiveness as a dimension shows that the health care that is delivered is supposed to adhere to the evidence provided and the results. Additionally, effectiveness is likely to result in improved health outcomes for the society. Efficiency as a dimension is whereby the health care is delivered in a manner that maximizes the usage of the resources as well as minimizing the wastage (Ozcan, 2014). Humanity is termed as having that quality of being humane and having the capability to share with individual patients. Humanity is a dimension of healthcare evaluation is in most cases measured from the perspective of the population in regards to the satisfaction with the delivery of services (Luce, 2012). Equity is based on the fact that quality of the health care does not vary based on personal characteristics, geographical location, and socioeconomic status among others. All these dimensions are of equal importance because they work hand in hand in the evaluation process (Block, 2006).
