Introduction
The industrial revolution in America dates back between the years 1760 and 1840. The revolution was mainly a transition from the use of human hands in production to the use of machines, adoption of new iron production methods, improvement in water power efficiency, the increased use of steam power and the rise of factories. The Textile Industry was the earliest to adopt the newly introduced methods of production (Landes, 2003).
Positive Impacts of Industrialization to America
* Realization of Women Rights
The growth in industrialization called for labour provision across America. The workforce needs to be led to the women grant of working rights to women in giving hands help in the industrial activities. This was a huge milestone for females because previously they relied on men for the provision of their basic needs.
Women became independent as they could now work to get their money unlike their before. Previously women were forced to get married for material support and status, but now they could wait till they get someone they would comfortably get married to (Friedman, 1985).
The working women later with their newly bestowed rights joined labour unions where they pressed for better working conditions. Women could now work to improve the economy of America and being self-reliant. Equality between men and women was gained when they were granted the right to vote through the nineteenth amendment.
* Advancements in the Manufacturing Industries
Before industrialization, the production in the United States was unproductive in nature, but industrialization resulted in the advancement in technology that led to the positive growth of the manufacturing industries. The growth led to rapid increase in the rate of production, the increment in salaries and wages and in leisure time workers were free to enjoy and carry out their exciting activities. This, on the other hand, flourished the cities in the US and the lives of Americans enhanced than ever before (Friedman, 1985).
