The production and supply of aircraft DOORS for the Airbus Company require necessary company departments that include the purchasing, production, and logistics departments. Of importance to note is that the departments, as mentioned earlier, work in cohesion to ensure production and delivery of aircraft DOORS.
Purchasing Department
The purchasing department is tasked with the responsibility of obtaining goods and services as well for utilization by the organisation. It is imperative to point out that this department is concerned with the purchasing of raw materials such as aluminum alloys and rolling plates (The Open University). Also, the department is involved in the buying of production equipment that will aid in the production of the Airbus DOORS. An example of a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) under this department is the cycle time that is used to measure the time used by the department to accomplish the needs of a company.
