INTRODUCTION
Organ transplant refers to renewal of a patient organ like kidney by replacing the unhealthy organ with a healthy one from another person. This is one of the technological advancement in health sector. It has helped to save many people’s lives. Even though so, it has been difficult to convince people to donate these organs. There is high demand in relation to donation. This article discusses this scenario and possible ways to curb problems related to it in United States of America.
HOW TO ADDRESS ORGAN DONATION SHORTAGES
In United States, the research shows that more than 100,000 patients are in need of kidney transplants. This is a very large number compared to the donors. In the past decade, the demand for organs has shoot up due to failures of vital organs. The government have tried legislating laws to curb the situation but it has not solved the situation fully. It should be addressed in the following ways; first, the government make laws that give presents to the family of the deceased and living donor. The rewards encourage people to donate them in order to enjoy the benefits.
The United States government should also consider investing in conducting mass and civic education to people on importance of organs donation. The public also should be enlightened that one can donate an organ without incurring any risk related to life. This helps remove fear of losing their lives and even having organ related problems after the donation. I do believe strongly that the aforementioned ways can help save many lives. It is very crucial for the government to look into that. (Weaver and Matthew, 2015)
WAL-MART CORPORATE
This is one of the successful companies in the United States. It was founded by Sam Walton. It deals with electronics, movies, music, furniture, household items and etc. By offering variety of goods and service in addition to quality goods, it has emerged to be the competitive and most successful retail industry. The industry analysed its strengths and weaknesses well (SWOT ANALYSIS) this helped them boost their competition strategy. It also focussed on three strategies that is low costs, differentiation and value orientation. (Vargo and Frank, 2011)
Even though it has great success, Wal-Mart has been condemned and charged for colour and sex discrimination. The other negative side involves smuggling foreign substandard goods, pollution of environment and mistreatment of suppliers. Even though the allegations, the corporate denies all of them claiming that the reason their prices are low are as a result of their planned efficiency. It is important to note that the serious charge against the corporation was the revenge against the six states associates.
MONOPOLISTIC COMPETITION
This is a type of competition structure whereby there are many buyers and sellers who have perfect knowledge of one another, sellers products are slightly differentiated through packaging, branding, sorting, colours and tastes. Focussing on United States firms that join together or one firm taking over the other to diversify market can be said to have destroy competition. They control the market, prices, quality of goods as they face no competition elsewhere.
Due to the advancement in technology in United States, it has made their products competitive in the word. This can be attributed to the fact that they have embraced globalization. Globalization refers to conducting business activities overseas by use of internet technology which increases market share. Therefore, U.S. markets are becoming more competitive through globalization. For globalization to be embraced, antitrust enforcement must have done a great job. These legislations are therefore very important in U.S.
LOCAL POLLUTION
Pollution refers to release of harmful or unhealthy wastes into the environment. Pollutants are substances that contaminate the environment for example polythene bags, untreated sewage, organic matter and inorganic matter. Due to the availability of many industries in United States that releases, smoke, unhealthy sewage, noise pollution and many more, the pollution level is slightly above the national average. Curbing pollution in the industries means there is extra cost incurred in doing so. These in turn transfer the costs into the products thus high prices. When prices are high, people tend to look for cheaper ones hence people in the industry might lose jobs due to low sales and low profit margin.
GLOBAL POVERTY
This is an international pandemic state of insufficiency in life needs (indigence). Poverty level in USA in not that serious although many people are categorized under poverty index. United States being a most economically developed country assists the third world countries to develop through donation. U.S.A has a lot of wealth; its employees have qualified skills in relation to economic value, commonly known as human capital. This human capital has saved many Americans from extreme poverty as they are able to secure employment.
COUNTRY POVERTY RATE
U.S poverty rate is extremely below the poverty level, this can simply be explained by the following: US is not among the developing countries but a developed country. It is also far ahead in technological advancement with many inventions and ...
