1)Plato believes that the body is a prison for the soul and concludes that the soul attains freedom after death. Philosophical attitude toward death is an argument that explains how true philosophers should view their death and how they should face it. The philosophers should be willing and ready to die. They spend their life-denying themselves bodily desires, such as food and sex. According to Plato, Death is the eventual parting of the soul and the body. A true philosopher should not fear death because, according to Plato, Death happens when all the body functions come to a halt. In addition, it would be unique of philosophers to fear death since they spend all their lives preparing themselves for death. Death gives them the freedom to more wisdom for true philosophers since the body temptations will no longer be there. The non-philosophers are not brave enough because their courage is limited to some things and fear when worse things happen. And they are only moderate to some pleasures because they want to be immoderate concerning others.
2) The platonic theory of forms suggests two different levels of reality; the intelligible and the visible word. The visible world is the one that we live in, which consists of sights and sounds, while the intelligible world is above the visible world. The theory illustrates that the beauty we see in people is because people conceive how it should look in the general form. Things or people can lose their beauty when they get old in the visible world. Still, these forms remain untarnished and eternal in the invisible world because there are no imperfections and obstructions as seen in the visible world. Therefore, the theory of forms implies that people cannot attain more excellent knowledge while still in the visible world due to these imperfections of sight and obstructions due to different conceptions.
