Introduction
Human Resource Development (HRD) focuses on enhancing the effectiveness of employees and the organisation. The element of Learning and Development (L&D) seems to be necessary for every organisation in the current business environment. There are certain approaches, which can be considered by organisations in order to encourage the L&D of employees and improve weak areas. The use of HRD can significantly assist organizations to help their employees gain expertise in certain skills in order to boost productivity.
VUCA
VUCA refers to an acronym that stands for “volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity”. It is a combination of certain qualities, which tend to characterise the nature of complex situations and conditions (Lawrence, 2013). Undoubtedly, we live in the age of VUCA business environment, which poses certain challenges for numerous companies.
