Critical Response Coursework (Coursework Sample)
This is "visual arts study" course, the course name is "art and media culture".
Please write a three hundred word critical response for each of the 3 readings (900 words for the 3 critical responses in total, and the 3 papers do not relate to each other, they are all separate). This is not an essay but an “engagement,” a thoughtful consideration of the ideas positioned in class and in the texts. Include at least three quotations from each reading. Use the proper form for citations and references where required.

Critical response
Life and theater are two different entities. Each one takes it own set of characteristics and forms its own life within the field of theater and production. This is an important aspect for all persons that are involved in the creation of multimedia, videos and original arts in the theaters. Much of the occidental theater relies on language it is written in and therefore the scripts are at the center of every other performance. However, language has lost its form, emotions and the logical coherence it once had due to the fact that, it is now stuck in time and has distanced itself from life. Ideally most of the pieces that reign as the ones that ever existed are stuck in their time. This means that most of the pieces were written for a different era but are still taken to remain relevant in different time periods. Characters end up taking much of the highlights, rather than what their actions are on the stage and the relevance that to the currents time. Theaters are busy showing performances that have been surpassed by heir time, in an effort to preserve the relevance of the characters that appeared in rather old pieces.

Although what the authors have put across is crucial to the development of the performances, directors should also have the ability to refocus their energies in creating new meaning to the pieces. This means that the director is not just tied to chores of translating the author, but they can also redefine the piece, its meaning and emotions it elicits in the audience.
