Description
The Aquila is a popular painting by Leah Yerpe. She is a renowned American artist associated with graphite drawing and photo-realistic paintings. Leah was born and raised in Cattaraugus County in New York. The 91x72 inches charcoal on the paper painting was created in 2012 at Brooklyn, New York where she works. The painting is displayed in Anna Zorina Gallery situated in New York. From a broader perspective, the painting features images of multiplied young ladies moving through space. Their body structure, the shared dress code and hair style affirm that the ladies are young.
Color usage is limited but successful. The contemporary use of black and white color best describes Aquila. It is a charcoal drawing on the white paper. The human images are colored black, a color that is commonly associated with morbid feeling. On the contrast, the background is white, a color that usually correlates
