Tesla Internet of Things Case Study
The Tesla car is an excellent example of the Internet of Things (IoT). Tesla was established in Silicon Valley in 2003. One primary objective of this organization was to demonstrate that hybrid cars may be superior to ordinary gasoline-powered automobiles. Tesla, headed by Elon Musk, has now become a renowned brand in the automobile sector, particularly in electric vehicle manufacturing. They began by establishing an extensive consumer base prepared to experiment with new technologies, and Tesla did not disappoint its automobile owners. Tesla was not the first firm to develop an automated car, but they were the first to do it utilizing Tesla's massive data. Tesla cars are built on artificial intelligence inference chips for full self-driving (FSD). The FSD provides set of driver-support features, which make driving less hectic and safe. The vehicle has an attitude sensor, various additional acceleration sensors, and camera all round (Pramanik et al.). The vehicle can take in new forms of its firmware and software and upgrade itself under user control or automatically, which transforms how the car is maintained.
Tesla established an early warning threat identification and reward system to compensate hackers who identify security flaws in the vehicles. Within a short radius of the vehicle's exterior, the automobile may sense the presence of an ignition key or any other vehicle (Kokuryo et al.). Currently, the automobile is equipped with just a few online music applications. The automobile is equipped with a browser that supports geolocation and map software. Since the vehicle is usually connected to the internet, hackers would gain access to the computing system, which could be risky (Sumantri 337). The current roads are not designed for self-driving and it is not well known how Tesla cars would operate in the same roads with the tradition vehicles. The passenger could be exposed to radiations since the cars use GPS, WI-FI, remote controls and Bluetooth among others. These technologies could expose the occupant of the car with high levels of radiations (Vynakov et al. 9). These radiations are known to cause serious health conditions.
Ethical agency
Bearer of ethical responsibility
Tesla company is the bearer of ethical responsibility. Tesla takes the step to ensure that all its suppliers' business practices are constant and follow the proper Code of conduct. The company ensures that all the suppliers conduct business consistent with this Code of conduct and set similar beliefs with their supply chain (Vynakov et al. 10). The company aims to give a high standard of integrity to its business interactions, where suppliers should have a zero-tolerance policy to avoid any kind of corruption, bribery, embezzlement, and extortion.
Behavior for which the ethical agent is responsible for
All business transactions must be performed transparently and truthfully. Facial recognition technologies in Tesla and access to the right databases would make it possible to identify the users. The company is responsible for protecting every piece of data stored in the database to avoid any data breach (Sumantri 337). All information concerning the customers, health and safety, supplier's labor, business activities, environmental practices, financial situation, structure, and performance should be protected and only disclosed in agreement with prevailing industrial practices and appropriate regulations.
Private or authority that can demand an answer from the agent
The government and the insurance companies can demand an answer from the agent in case of car accidents, violations, or
