Effects of divorce
Divorce is a legal process where married couples terminate their marriage. It arises as a result of social difference, financial difficulties, adultery, depressions and work stress.
Divorce come with more of negative impacts than positive impacts. Children from the divorced families are the most affected. Parent-child relationship is weakened. This is due to the loss of trust children towards their parents, distant from their parent and psychological stress. Also, general relationship between the affected families and their friends is also affected. Involved party feel bitter, depressed and alienated from the society. It takes time for one to get back to normal life and accepted in the society.
According to Andress and Dina when family is together, they support each other both emotionally, practically and economically (5). Financial problems come up when the two part ways especially in the case where one was the bread winner. Research shows that women are more affected with economic problems after partnership dissolution. Financial status of men tend to improve after a divorce. According to Sampson the most difficult aspect of divorce is worry of how to cope with the situation and what harm it will cause to your children (17).
