Working remotely can be an issue because the employees tend to burn out from work overload, the systems and security sites are costly, and employers depend on the employees to always be available. Despite the fact that many of the employers have integrated this form of working within the organization, it is important to note that there are some of the challenges which come in from the impacts associated with working remotely. The advantages have been realized both for the employer and the employee. The challenges or the dark side associated with this type of working are significant and therefore require attention to save the ailing nature of the employees and employers who offer remote working services. Working remotely has influenced the employer and the employee differently.
To begin with, research shows that to work remotely requires greater security from the company which is expensive to provide. Therefore many companies have undergone a greater cost as they try to ensure that they give the correct allocation of the funds. It is, therefore, less costly to work in a collective office side by side for all the employees than working remotely. The cost increases the expenditures of the company, and therefore it lowers the profit or earning of the company or organization (Bailey and Kurland 392). The Facilitation of the working remotely is said to be more expensive as compared to the working within the same premises for all the employees.
Researchers also say that working remotely leads to overloading of the employees with work. The employers are inconsiderate of the level of work to the employees and take no consideration of the pile of the work their employee has. It is because watching close of the employees while working remotely is difficult and therefore as the employers try to keep them occupied they overload them with office work. The employer, therefore, need to concentrate more and realize the measures they can put in place to ensure they don’t overload their employees.
There has been the rise of cases where the employees don’t run up to work and therefore the employer in a serious crisis to allocate duties for the specific employee who did not show up. The employer has no security to keep the employees, and therefore it is an issue for the maintenance of the employees. Over the night the employee can decide to resign, and therefore the duties will end up being undone, without the knowledge of the employers, there will be no delivery which might lead to a crisis within the organization. It requires the employer to be attentive and therefore keeping in touch with the employee.
There has been the problem associated with the development of the personal abilities in interaction and being responsive within the office. Working side by side with the other employees offers them with the ability and technicality in relating with other employees. Moreover, the employer is not aware of the capability of the employees.
