INFORMAL ARGUMENT: IS GOOGLE MAKING US STUPID
The use of the internet since its invention, we can say it has benefited us a lot. However, there are some ill effects of using the internet. In this essay, I could agree with the statement that Google is making us stupid. There are several negative effects of the internet, such as lack of concentration, where an individual cannot focus on one task as complete it without getting distracted by the pop-up adverts or links to other similar information, on whether one is searching online and the nature of us perusing through without in-depth reading. There is a lack of concentration, focus, and our nature of skipping through a large amount of information in a short period. We end up sacrificing our capacity to engage in the quieter attentive modes of thought that underpin contemplation, reflection, and introspection, factors that contribute to our understanding of subjects.
