The paper sets out to present implementation guidelines to help xACME educational typology meet user requirements. The project will focus on; Springfield Device and STP Configurations; Worchester Subnetting Configurations and Boston Site Protocol, Route Summarization, and Topology Improvement. Additionally, the project will highlight Sacramento Site VLAN, Routing on a Stick (ROS) and DHCP Implementation, Los Angeles Site Management Technologies, and xACME WAN - WAN Implementation and Security Communications.
Part 1
1.0 Springfield Device and STP Configurations
1.1 Springfield Device
For Springfield site, configuring a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) will help in device identification and implementation of manual IP. The generic login and message of the day (MOD) would be created so as to configure switches in the typology. The VLAN must be incorporated with Packet Switched Video Telephone (PSVT). The PSVT is important in connecting the VLAN and the root and resolve redundancy related issues [1]. Moreover, the bridge protocol data unit (BPDU) would be aligned to block not only unauthorized access but rather prevent security breaches for this site.
1.2 Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) Configurations
For Springfield site, it is essential to implement login banners, hostnames and MOD. The implementation would preclude unauthorized users from accessing the network. Additionally, passwords as well as usernames should be configured so as to determine security level and ensure that only administrators can access the device and make changes. This rights accorded to administrators will notify them in case of unauthenticated users try to access the network [2]. In this perspective, switch 1 will be configured on STP, but all ports must be in a forward state. This will be an exit and entry area for LAN traffic. STP is suitable for Springfield site to prevent cases of data loops. Again, the STP is an added benefit to Springfield site since it would prevent errors, loop switching and one active path. Nevertheless, administrators can face difficulties when switch 1 is made the root contributing to network failure. This means that STP would be configured on all the switches within Springfield in a bid to revolve network failure.
