Leonardo Vinci has left a remarkable impact in the art we still study up to date. His remarkable masterpiece was a 16th century Mona Lisa oil painting which is also referred to as La Giaconda. This painting is considered to be the Vinci most famous painting it may be as well speculated to be the most famous painting in the world. Mona Lisa history has acquired a lot of attention and controversy due to the identity of the woman who appears in the painting.
One of the theories of the Mona Lisa is that it was specifically made for a wealthy silk merchant Francesco Giaconda and his spouse Lisa. The couple required the painting for their new residence and to commemorate the delivery of their second child. It was painted between 1503 and 1519 this is when Leonardo lived in Florence although there has been difficulty in confirming the real dates.
The painting hangs in Paris Louvre where people pilgrimage to see it. The Mona Lisa is a great painting first from the mysterious smile which some people have interpreted to be a sad smile, other a sly smile which points out that the woman was hiding something maybe something good or something creepy.
