The use of animals in research comprises a wide range of species whereby diverse animals are used in different studies. The research process involves using diverse techniques which may or may not impact individual animals and groups up to the level of the entire ecosystem. Some animals that can be used in research include guinea pigs, mice and rats, and pigs. Although research is conducted for several benefits, it is also important to consider the rights of the animals used to conduct those studies. Some research may be conducted in less favorable areas for the animals to survive.
