Since Brian works at the bank as a manager, his department performs the below duties. They are responsible for supervising and managing the bank branch. Their department is to oversee the financial reporting, train the staff and hire staff. The department also oversees the employees, assists customers, and provides customer services. Brian hired Laura in his department, and the Vice President and other department staffs were happy. Though Laura started well in her job, she misses most of the meetings, and her performance is also substantial. Brian cannot fire Laura from the position since both the staff considers employing a lady in the department was necessary since most of the workers are male.
For Brian to help Laura improve on her performance, the first performance is measured by attitude and motivation. Brian should consider if Laura's attitude is in contrast with the training and resources supplied by the organization. He should also think if Laura’s motivation is the product of desire and commitment. Secondly, instead of the department initiating a staff meeting and speak in broad terms, the department should be specific and call Laura herself in a forum. In the session with Laura only, the department should be clear and specific about the performance issue, and they should document the problem where performance lies.
