1 Background information of China
China has a known record of poverty and has previously been referred to as an emerging economy until recent for the past decade that it has greatly eradicated its poverty levels especially in urban centers. Currently, poverty is only experienced in the rural places in China and for the past three decades it has it has tried its best to eradicate the poverty. Despite the drastic progress of the economy that has lifted over 5 million individuals from poverty, the percentage of people still living in poverty remains to be high. This shows that development strategies in the nation need to redirection to the remote areas to enhance development in the regions and alleviate poverty.
