Comparisons between Deductive Reasoning and Inductive Reasoning
Deductive reasoning is logical thinking whereby one starts with a logical idea to reach a given conclusion moving from a general point to a specific decision. It relies on a common statement or hypothesis to come up with a given conclusion. On the other hand, inductive reasoning could be described as a form of thinking that bases its generalisation on specific incidents that have been experienced.
The difference between the two is that deductive reasoning starts with a generalization and applies it in specific incidents to give a particular conclusion. In contrast, inductive reasoning uses specific incidents to provide a broad decision (Stephens et al., 2018).
Examples of Deductive and Deductive Reasoning
Inductive reasoning is applied when a salesperson reviews strategy employed by a sales agent in the same cases as his and could close a sale and then involves the approach to her case assuming that he will also be successful.
On the other hand, an example of deductive reasoning is when a salesperson notes that energy drinks she was selling were to be bought by every man she met on the road. Seeing the man coming on her way, she automatically concluded he would also buy the drink.
Key Dimensions of Attribution Theory
According to Hayes et al. (2018), the key dimension of attribute theory are:
Locus of control
It entails believing that either internal or external attributes can cause a given behaviour. For example, if someone thinks their effort granted them success, they will feel a sense of accomplishment instead of believing they came out of their action.
Stability
This dimension looks at the probability of an attribution cause changing over some time. For example, a behavior of incompetence can be attributed to lack of experience, but the person gains experience leading to change of the behavior and becoming competent.
Controllability
Looks at whether the individual believes he has control over the given behavior. For example, one may give up if he believes a situation is out of their hands.
Application of Attribution theory in assessing the Team’s Members Performance
As a team leader, I would apply attribution theory to explain the difference in motivation between the high and lower performers. I would also look at their behavior and what the behavior is attributed to, and how it affects performance. I would work on relating the causes of their behaviors. For example, for poor performers, I would look at their esteem. Here, I would target the self-concept and how it affects achievement. It includes self-perception of the ability to perform.

I would recommend Descriptive research methods. That is seeking to obtain the necessary data to formulate a conclusion on the cause of the decline in sales and look at the change of attitudes and behaviors over time using descriptive research techniques and be able to draw conclusions and make correlations concerning the market at large.
