Summary
This research aimed at examining the connection between burnout and job engagement among workers in the healthcare industry. The study carried out on these perceptions were aimed at enhancing the base of knowledge in this particular area for the purposes of ensuring that the current organization in which the experiment took place together with some other organizations are in a position of focusing on the ay burnout affects their workers, which has a direct impact on the organization. Data for the study was gathered through a quantitative survey questionnaire on a convenience sample (N = 204) on the permanently employed workers working full-time at the Gregory Hospital in Chicago.
General Research Question
* Is it possible to establish the connection between burnout and job commitment among the workers in the health care sector?
Specific Research Questions
The following particular research questions were formulated and addressed as a result of the review of the existing literature:
* What is the meaning of burnout and what does it constitute?
* What is the extent of burnout together with job commitment among the workers?
* It is possible to us employee burnout as a forecaster of job commitment among the workers?
* Are there any recommendations for the purposes of future study as well as for the control of burnout and job commitment in the sector of health care?
CHAPTER 4: EMPIRICAL STUDY
The chapter will focus on discoing the determination and the description of population which will be followed by the formulation of hypothesis, data processing, administration, and psychometric batteries. The last part will be conclusion which will try to summarize the whole concept of the paper.
4.1 RESEARCH DESIGN
Abdollahi, (2002) defines it as any measure that will, ensure the hypothesis of the research is sued to formulate the research objectives. It is indicated that the research design type of main plan that will determine the method of collecting data and the process of analysing that information for the purpose of getting the right information. The literature review and the empirical information will be the research study which will help in determining the relationship between work engagement and burnout. To describe the collecting information of the design, the cross sectional survey was used in that aspect.
